This deciduous plant usually matures to 1-3 m tall. The simply foliage is opposite, simple ovoid-acute, 7-20 cm long, with a coarsely toothed edge. Its blossoms can be light, or range from white to green to white based on ground pH; in more acid earth the blossoms will be white, whereas alkaline earth generate a white flowers. White flowery versions do not change colour regardless of the ground pH.
